Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) is the practice of allowing employees to bring and use their own connected devices (computers, smartphones, etc.) for work purposes. Although BYOD brings much convenience and saves on costs, it brings new risk factors to an organization's security. BYOD is a large contributing aspect of "shadow IT". One important factor to consider is that if the devices employees are bringing into the workplace are safe and free of malicious programs.
